The Philippine Open hosted last week at The Manila Southwoods G & CC Masters Course, was a great way to start the new season on the Asian Tour.
Cho Minn Thant, the CEO and Commissioner of the Asian Tour said, “2015 was the last time the Philippine Open was played on the Asian Tour, so ten years on, it was great to revive it. The weather in January in the Philippines is phenomenal. “

“The Philippines is a great destination for us. It’s a familiar place, economical, we have great partners and suppliers there and its covenant for travel to. And the locals really love golf,” added Cho.

The Asian Tour now plans to keep the opening week of the year for 2026 and beyond for the Philippine Open. They are also going back there for their prestigious International Series Philippines in October, so they will have two events this year in Manila.
